| How to get prepared for the MAC Certification assessment |

Dedicated to assist the increasing number of industry operators willing to become MAC Certified with efficiency and a timely manner, MAC has developed a specific kit for the certification’s preparation.
|
While reviewing its certification system, MAC realized that
a generic tool was needed to assist companies interested in
becoming MAC Certified under the MAC Handling, Husbandry and
Transport (HHT) international Standard. This means needed
to provide companies the required materials to get started
with their certification process as well as to prepare them
for a certification assessment by a third-party MAC accredited
certifier, without visits of a MAC representative. The Certification

The Certification Preparation Kit aims to be used for the different users (meaning the exporters, importers and retailers) of the MAC HHT international Standard.
This kit includes: |

- A self-assessment
questionnaire and
model templates (ORS

- Reference information about MAC
accredited certifiers and
the MAC HHT international Standard.

This kit will help interested companies to trigger their certification process through a description of all steps to be taken. With the self-assessment questionnaire, companies can easily reflect their policies and procedures in place, and explain their compliance with the MAC Standard’s requirements.

From the questionnaire’s results, a MAC representative can carry out a gap analysis and recommend corrective action to be taken in order to ensure compliance with the MAC HHT international Standard.
|
The process of self-assessing and following up corrective action will be repeated until all non-conformities are corrected and the respective MAC representative can recommend the company for certification.
