| MAC KITS
According to its audience, the Marine Aquarium Council has developed the following kits:
- The Hobbyist
Kit is designed to raise awareness
among marine aquarium keepers and clubs about the issues
affecting the future of the marine aquarium hobby, as well
as introducing MAC and creating an understanding of MAC
Certification.
Clubs can use the kit to focus a meeting on MAC Certification
and the role of hobbyists in ensuring the marine ornamental
trade is responsible and sustainable. This kit includes
a “PowerPoint”
presentation about MAC and its programs, an
accompanying narrative document, a MAC
background file, a marine
ornamental trade fact sheet, a FAQ
on the MAC international Standards and a
survey to be completed after the meeting.
- The Public Aquarium
Resources Kit is a resource tools to use in raising
public, hobbyist and industry awareness about issues in
the marine ornamentals trade and the benefits of MAC Certified
marine aquarium organisms is available.
the kit includes seven exhibit
panels in high resolution pdfs. Also included
in the kit are: the MAC
hobbyist brochure in five languages, the MAC
card on responsible aquarium keeping, camera-ready
ads, lesson
plans, the 8-page
MAC booklet for industry in five languages,
the MAC
booklet for hobbyist and selected fact
sheets and FAQs.
The Resource Kit CD also contains mpeg4 versions of the
MAC 5-minute and
60-second public service announcements
that feature Alexander Gould, the voice of Nemo in Finding
Nemo. The PSAs summarize the marine ornamentals collection
and trade story … from Reef to Retail and encourage
a responsible hobby through MAC Certification.
- The MAC Press Kit is available
for media looking for a complete set of information about
the Marine Aquarium Council and the marine ornamental trade.
- The MAC Industry Kit is
designed for the industry representatives in order to receive
a complete set of information about the Marine Aquarium
Council and its Certification program.
It provides industry members general information about the
Marine Aquarium Council and its Certification program with
the reason beyond MAC Certification, with a MAC
background file, a marine
ornamental trade fact sheet, a FAQ
on the MAC international Standards; and with a focus on
the conservation,
business
and social
benefits. Industry
operators have also access to a case
study on Certification cost, as well as a description
of the MAQTRAC method used to asses coral reefs sites.
